Yeezy’s Boost…or nah? | MadameAkay

Hey Gems!

I wanted to share my first experience with purchasing a highly anticipated shoe restock by Kanye West. I do not support his view points but I do like the style of his Yeezy Boost 350 shoe line. Now I knew the Zebra’s were re-  dropping on November 16th with the first time at 7AM EST and then again at 10AM EST. I totally missed the 7AM drop because I didn’t set an alarm smh so now I was forced to try my luck at 10AM.

The Process Went Like This

Watch for all updates on Twitter following the AdidasAlerts account, this account helped me big time. It had all the sites that I could use to make a purchase prior to the 10AM launch. So I was watching this account like a hawk. I also turned on notifications so with any update they posted, I was the first to know. As soon as I got the notification that the Adidas site started the waiting room queue I jumped on it on my iPhone. Then I thought to myself, why not open the same site on my laptop and every other site they had listed. At this point, there were 6 tabs open to buy these shoes. The shoe industry has gotten smarter. I remember when one had to reload the site multiple times to purchase the shoe. Now, they installed a Queue – It feature so that it creates an equal opportunity for folks to purchase the shoe.

24 Minutes Later

My 6 tabs went down to 2 tabs. Both of which were from the adidas website. I was silently praying that I get these shoes, I really wanted some Yeezy’s! The site continued to refresh and with each refresh I saw the sizes available going down and down. What made things worse is Adidas would say “Sale has started, we’re now taking orders. Please hold tight for your chance to purchase the Yeezy Boost 350 V2.”

Aftermath

Did I get to purchase the shoe? Nope! Was it something I’ve always wanted to experience? Yes! Would I do it again? Nope! It’s not worth the stress. I instead purchased the shoe from a different site and there was no stress.
